The five ways a proxy wager breaks
A proxy wager has failure states of its own, and they are not the same as an ordinary bet losing. The holdout who keeps the win, the agent who stops paying, the account closed on discovery, the withdrawal refused at the rail and the claim that arrives too late - each is a different break with a different cost.

Direct answer
A proxy wager breaks in five ways: the holder keeps the win (the default, not an exception), a paid agent stops paying, the account is closed on discovery (22 of 900), a withdrawal is refused at the rail (34), or a claim by the person who chose the bet is declined (92 of 112).
The five breaks, in the order they usually appear
- The holder keeps it - the win is paid to the name on the account and the chooser has only a request to the holder.
- The rail refuses - 34 withdrawals cannot complete because the destination does not match the holder.
- The documents come - 96 wagers bring a request for proof of the source of funds.
- The claim is declined - 92 of the 112 claims by the chooser are declined for want of a contract.
- The account closes - 22 accounts are closed when a nominee arrangement is found, and the balance can only go to the holder.
| break | count | who carries it |
|---|---|---|
| holder keeps the win | 260 | the person who chose the bet |
| withdrawal refused | 34 | the holder, until the rail is fixed |
| claim declined | 92 | the chooser |
| account closed | 22 | the holder, and the balance with them |
| agent stops paying | in the 180 | the client, with no claim on an operator |
| the cost falls on whoever the operator does not name | the chooser | |
None of the five is a malfunction. Each is the rule working as written, which is why the desk treats them as the shape of the arrangement rather than as faults in it.
